When I was educated in the south it was never hard to read between the lines and the thought of the 'South will rise again' slogun was evident in many places. Daughters of the Confederacy still are very active in the communities there. The South is still very very very sore over reconstruction, carpetbaggers, scalliwags, and the forcing of economic policies that were the real crux of the original sucession problem. Due to the state of the last 150 years however the south has just barely been able to industralize to levels it was at that time. Texas was bribed to be included in the union in the first place, after the Mexican war, Spanish American War, and finally setteling the border and security issues they had little incentive to stay. They don't even take many federal funding programs because they have enough of their own economy, same with Alaska. These are very interesting times. The radical left needs to get their heads out of unicorn and lala land and brush up on American history, western civilization, and civics courses before they compleatly dismantle this thing the rest of us call a country.
