AIG Again!

AIG is in the news again. More money and they are giving it away. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, AIG is giving huge bonuses (or retention payments) to corporate executives and it's on our tab. And, the government knew about it before it happened and they say there is nothing they could have done to prevent it. Well, wise up Americans, there is something that the government and we can do about it. PULL THE PLUG. They know that they can keep getting away with it and they also know that the government will keep giving them billions because they government feels that they can't be allowed to fail. Let these guys file for bankruptcy, there are chapters of bankruptcy that will accommodate only the bad branches of AIG and will allow the other departments to continue. If you don't want to do that, then believe me there are thousands of good, honest bankers out of work that can take over these positions and make a success of AIG. American citizens are getting sick and tired of bailing out AIG just to have them throw the billions out the window and come crying for more. AIG is suppose to belong 80% to the American taxpayer, but were any of you taxpayers out there consulted on this decision? NO! Our wonderful new Secretary of the Treasury knew about this latest round of bonuses and approved them. But, did he inform us, NO. This has got to stop. If our government won't stop it, well then maybe we should take matters into our own hands. This is not the time to be passive, speak out, call or write your senators and representatives and let them know that you have had enough.

This feels like a broken record, or scratched CD for the younger crowd... AIG is claiming this is a "rentention package" to keep quality people, well how high caliber are these people if they are part of the same lot that got them into this mess in the first place? I know many executives work for low base pay and their bonuses, entitlements, and compensation incentives are many tens of times higher then base pay but this is insane they would keep this up in this time of their company's history. Fix the bleeding first, do something warranting reward before getting one. As a citizen I would only want to reward them AFTER they prove they have fixed the problems and repaid all the money we gave them, then they can get what ever bonus the share holders and board of directors sees fit, until then, on our dime, they should be squeezing every penny as hard as the rest of us have to. Shame on our tax evading cabinet and executive branch for not doing anything about this and our inept socialists Congress for ignoring it until it is made public so they can focus all their attention on turning the country into another Cuba. God help us all get through this mess.
