9月28日 Schools Under SiegeWhat is Happening In Our Schools?
Our schools are under siege. The latest attack, in Colorado, by Duane Morrison is one in a long series. And, probably will not be our last. When I was in school, over 100 years ago, we never even thought about bring guns, knives, or any other weapon into the school. We knew what would happen if we did, first the principal and then our parents. By the time my daughters attended school, about 50 years ago, (don't tell Brenda I said that) kids were bringing knives to school, but now, the sky's the limit.
In this latest case, Mr. Morrison, was not affiliated with the school in any way. So, how did he just walk in off the street and take hostages? In all the stories I've read about this, he walked into a classroom and fired his gun into the direction of the floor. Where was the teacher? Or the substitute teacher? I'm not reading anything about an adult being present in the classroom.
How many attacks on schools is it going to take before the school officials understand that there needs to be guards or some kind of security present in the school so that people can't just walk in and start shooting? If Mr. Morrison could do this so easily--what about the terrorists? Terrorist took over a school in Russia and we have learnt nothing from this?
I worry that my grandchildren are attending schools that are not secure from terrorists and nuts off the street. When are we ever going to learn? 9月26日 Bill Clinton's Tirade on SundayBill Clinton's tirade on Sunday was evidence of his guilty conscious and the fact that his ego refuses to let go of his need for a legacy. He stated that he didn't like being compared to the movie "Wag the Dog." Well then he shouldn't have played the part. If he had had his mind on Bin Laden instead of Monica Lowinsky, 9/11 may never have happened. God forbid that Hillary and Bill take over the White House for another 8 years. 9月25日 PacifismPacifism=The principle or policy of establishing and maintaining universal peace or such relations amoung all nations that all differences may be adjusted by peaceful means, or without recourse to war.
I was reading in a couple of my political science periodicals of the resurgence of such historical avenues as Stalinism. The young people of Russia say Stalin is a great hero. Stalin--a man who starved millions of Russians to death because they didn't agree with him or because they were more educated then he. A man history has grouped with Pol-Pot--The Dying Fields. A hero? Not by historic definition.
How about North Korea's dictator? Hero or mad man? How about the resurgence of Nazism? Last year when I visited Germany, skinheads, the new generation of Nazis, were evident in many towns and cities.
Iran's premier, who freely speaks of the Holocaust as never occurring--of the need to eliminate Jews--of destroying Israel. And, then there is Hugo Chavez, who speaking to the UN in New York City, goes off on a tirade that the US President is the devil complete with the smell of sulfur. And, he is applauded.
Scientists confirm that there exists a fine line between genius and insanity and historians lecture of the need to know history or we are doomed to repeat it. Let us walk through time and space.
Adolf Hitler's mother worked as a maid in the home of wealthy Jews. Wherein she became pregnant by their son. In the eyes of the parents and the son, she was not the type of girl suitable to marry. Thus Hitler was born with the congenital hatred for Jews. This hatred was compounded as he grew, first by his step-father's anti-Semitic views and secondly as a starving artist in Munich, where Hitler saw the Jews as controlling Germany's wealth, of which he had little or none. It was at this stage of his life that Hitler wrote his famous book, "Mein Kampf" which upon having finished reading I came to the conclusion that it was the ravings of a mad man.
A man who in order not to starve to death ate rats and pined for the love of his male room mate. Whereupon Hitler joined the military, he only achieved the rank of corporal, but had delusions of being great and powerful. WWI ended in 1918 and in 1919 the Treaty of Versailles was signed. And, Hitler became aware over time of his ability to capture the attention of the masses through his powerful speeches. He could whip the crowds into a frenzy and insight them to act upon his words of German power and rebirth of greatness.
Germany, as all of Europe, re-acted to the Great Depression. The era of German restitution for WWI. Hitler took power with his Nazi thugs on the premise of a struggle between nations for living space and world domination and to that end he believed the Jews comprised a nation, a "subhuman" nation, one that must be exterminated. And, thus the Holocaust became the "Final Solution."
But what about the others he exterminated--the ones hardly, if ever mentioned? Hitler didn't exterminate only Jews. He exterminated homosexuals because he saw that tendency in himself. He exterminated the homeless, because they were of no value to him or the rest of the world--the same with those with disabilities--physical or mental. And, then there was his striving to create the pure Aryian race. Blonde hair and blue eyes (note that Hitler possessed neither of these traits) by limiting who could breed with whom.
Let us not forget the experiments of Dr. Death--fed by Hitler's perverted, pornographic mind. The people who died as a result of his striving to breed humans with animals (gorillas for the large part) and his dream of proving humans could re-grow apendages the same as lizards. What about those individuals? Where are their memorials--where are their holocaust?
Though the world knew of these atrocities, we showed only pacifism. We gave Hitler one European country after another in hopes of pacifying him. Now we find ourselves in the same situation with a fanatical religion. Instead of standing up for ourselves, for our right to express our opinions, for our right to follow whatever religion we desire, for our right to protect ourselves and our posterity, we are doomed to repeat our path of pacifism.
And, if this is the path that we have chosen, then we should start planning our pacifistic route. Which states will we offer our enemy first? Afterall, we will not have other countries to offer this time--we've made too many international enemies. Which of our 50 states is of less importance or less value? And, how many states will it take to pacify these radicals--these terrorists? Maybe we could offer those most prone to natural disasters--i.e., earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes. Or, perhaps the smaller states should go first--or--or--maybe one big state would be a good start.
Me--I offer New Mexico--Richardson is running for President and maybe this would be a show of good faith. Afterall, people think we are part of Mexico anyway--and then we can work south--into Mexico next.
PACIFISM--yep, that's the way to do it!!!!

May She Rest In Peace 9月15日 Not Even The PopeNot even the Pope can tell the truth about the Muslims. And, he was only quoting someone who lived in the days of Mohammed. This shows how much religious tolerance these fanatics have. They can bad mouth our religions, but watchout if you speak even the truth about theirs. 9月8日 The New Movie About Clinton Letting Bin LadenI keep hearing on the radio about a new movie in the works that contains footage about Clinton letting Bin Laden go during his presidency. And, I hear that the Clinton government supporters are trying to have this footage removed from the movie before it comes out. It's too bad that the government doesn't want the public to know the truth. In fact, he let Bin Laden escape about 10-12 times that I know of. Too bad the truth hurts soooo bad sometimes that no one wants to hear it. Not even those involved. The GrinIf there's one thing that bothers me about President Bush, its the grin. What my grandmother use to call "The Shit-Eatin Grin."
The grin that a person gets when they've done something they know you don't like, and they've gotten away with it, and there isn't anything you can do about it. Watch him when he speaks to the public on TV, like he'll be doing on Monday night, and you'll see "The Grin."
Yeah, there's nothing I hate more than "The Grin." And, the President isn't the only one that has "The Grin." I've seen it a lot over my lifetime and I like it a little less each time I see it. My husband has "The Grin" and I've made it well known that I don't like it.
But, people that have perfected "The Grin" just don't care how folks like me don't like it. In fact, I think they flash "The Grin" more cause they know we don't like it. But, don't worry--some day "The Grin" will catch up with these grinners and they'll like it even less than we do. 9月5日 Virginity--Is It Over-Rated?On to my next topic--Virginity. I'm not a doctor or a biologist, but virginity is a phsical condition. Usually associated with human females, but males are often called virgins also. When I was in high school, males often bragged about having sex with female classmembers when in fact they hadn't. It was a way of boosting their egos and destroying some innocent females reputation.
Terrorists are told that if they die for the cause, strap a bomb on their bodies and blow themselves up, they will be given 72 virgins as a reward in heaven. Now--are these virgins to be male or female--or some of each? I just want to establish that fact. Secondly--since virginity is a physical condition--why do you think that applies to the spirit world? In other words--since you (the terrorist bomber) will be dead and therefore in the spiritual domain, why do you think that virginity will even apply? Do you think that spirits have sex the same as physical beings do? And, why would 72 virgins who have kept their virginity intact through life into death want to give that up for you--a terrorist?
Virginity--a subject that is a personal issue for most people--not something that males want to brag about, but an issue that some females wear around like a badge or metal. It's usually lost in a matter of minutes. Especially if you remain a virgin until you marry, it's usually gone in a matter of one (maybe two if you've had a lot to drink at your reception) night. Then there is a matter of if you (females) have given birth to a child--virginity is no longer a secret or an issue.
I have found, in my wonderings of the world, that the people who brag the most and the loudest about being a virgin are not. They have to keep bringing it up and bragging about it to boost their egos and heighten their self-worth. Most of us, males or females, don't bring virginity up as a conversation piece to fill voids.
I've had female friends tell me that they were a virgin until they got married. Okay, fine. Now, what do you want me to say? "That's great, what an accomplishment!" "If they gave out medals for virginity, I'd put you in for one." I don't know--I'm left hanging as to a response. Do you want me to say, "Me too!!!" Well, I don't consider it anyones business but my own--so don't wait for that response. Perhaps I was for my first husband, but since then I've given birth to two children and married two other men--so at the moment I'd say that I'm not.
Or, perhaps you want me to say, "Prove it!" Now there's a good one--how do you do that? Bring your husband in as a witness--better make sure that he sees it the same as you do. Conflicting stories can be embarassing. Or, perhaps you just make the remark to intimidate your children--because you think that they should be a virgin until they marry, too. You're wrong, your children will make their own decisions, hopefully they'll make the correct ones.
I just don't get the BIG DEAL here with virginity. Terrorists are usually young men who have no other leads in life. They want to feel important, they want to do something important for the cause. Also, they come from countries where women have to cover their entire bodies, they can't leave the house without a male escort, they do not date like in modern countries, their marrages are usually contracted by families, they are not allowed to have human contact with the opposite sex, so I guess that the promise of 72 virgins flocking to them when they die is important. But, to me it's a personal human condition, not a topic of friendly, party conversation. 9月3日 Darwin's Theory of EvolutionMSN Spaces is starting to really get under my skin. Blogs disappearing, slow as all get out, can't post pictures, etc., etc. So, I'm seriously thinking about closing this blog down, but before I do, I want to blog about some things that puzzle me and some that really bug me.
First off, Darwin's Theory of Evolution. When I was a kid in school, yeah bout 100 years ago, every year in science class, we had to go over Darwin's Theory of Evolution. Course back then we had to study the Bible's theory too, but we can't go there in this day and age. Anyway, back to Darwin's theory. I found his theory very puzzling back then and I still do today. Now maybe some of you science majors can help me out here.
So, it starts with a single cell organism that lived in the ocean or in the water somewhere. This single cell starts evolving (changing) into more and more cells until it's big enough to become a fish or some kind of water animal. Now, this animal evolves into a creature that crawls up on the land and develops legs and feet instead of fins. And, the evolving process continues until somehow the monkey evolves into a monkey who walks upright on two legs and keeps evolving into the humans that we are today.
Of course I realize that there are a lot of steps in this evolving process and that it covers millions of years, but the theory is that from a single cell modern humans are suppose to have developed. Now, if this is true--why are there still single-cell organisms and monkeys today? Shouldn't they have become extict as they evolved? Why is it that I can go to the zoo and there are monkeys in cages and they are not turning into humans? Why would a monkey want to stop evolving and turn back into a monkey? If given the choice--would a monkey want to remain a monkey instead of evolving into a human?
Do you see my problem here? And, why then did humans just stop at the human stage of evolution? Why didn't we continue to evolve into---super humans---or---invincible, immortal beings? I thought that evolving meant to change from one reality to another--point in question--from a single cell to a monkey to a human. Does this also mean that once the cell reaches the human form that it then un-evolves to the single cell stage only to repeat the process?
Now, I do understand the concept of adapting. Human's didn't need an appendix anymore once we started to cook the foods we eat. So, the appendix just sits there in the abdomen until it becomes irratated and some doctor has to take it out. But, it didn't change into some other organ because we didn't need it or because it was bored and so it evolved. People and animals adapt to their surroundings, to their environment; but, I don't see any evolving into some other species because of their surroundings or environment.
Can someone please explain Darwin's theory so that it makes sense to me? |
