Yes, President Ahmadinejad has his own blog. I went there to read what he had to say. Of course, it was all in Arabic (I think) or Frasii. Anyway, when I clicked on English, there it was, straight from the man's mouth--Do you think that the Israeli and US war on Hezbullah is trying to start a WORD war? Was the man asking if we're trying to start a WORLD war, or does he actually mean we want to have a war of WORDs?
If you're going to blog, and you want US (English) people to read it and answer your questions--get a good interpreter or learn to spell world in arabic.
To answer your question--most US politicians have WORD wars (they're better at those than fighting); however, the US military has fought in two WORLD wars and although they are not out actively trying to start a WORLD war, I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem fighting in one. It looks to me like you, President Ahmadinejad are trying your best to start a WORLD war with a war of WORDs, WEAPONS, and SUPPORT for Hezbullah.
I guess that your strategy is best described by my former Political Science professor, Dr. Pae. You would be a "Have Not" in the scheme of world politics, and you want to be a "Have." In other words you want to have what the "Haves" have. We, the US, are one of the "Haves." We do not want you the "Have Nots" to have what we the "Haves" have. So, you, the "Have Nots," will do anything to have what the "Haves" have because you do not want to be a "Have Not." But, we the "Haves" will also do anything to keep you the "Have Nots" from getting what we the "Haves" have. And, since we the "Haves" have enough of what we have to keep you the "Have Nots" from getting what we the "Haves" have--I predict that you the "Have Nots" will continue to be the "Have Nots" for a long time to come.
Does that answer your question? 8月14日 Hezbullah Had This PlannedSaturday, I was listening to Public Radio and they had a man from Lebanon being interviewed. This man stated that before the war broke out with Israel, Hezbullah had been coming into the small towns in Southern Lebanon, terriorizing Lebanese citizens. The Hezbullah would build missile bunkers in these towns and on top of the bunkers they would build schools, hospitals, and other facilities for the local people.
When queried about why they were building bunkers with public facilities on top, Hezbullah told the Lebanese people that when a war (which was coming in the future) with Israel, the world would side with Hezbullah because Israel was killing innocent civilians.
This is the kind of enemy that we will be fighting in the future. An enemy who doesn't value life as we do. This is a decison that we will have to make in order to win this kind of war. Kill or be killed.
8月13日 Where Are Those 72 Virgins?I want to blog about the recent arrest of terrorists in Great Britian; however, I haven't been able to figure out how to do that without pissing off the Muslims. And, then I'd be called a Muslim basher again. So, I thought about it for a while and decided, I DON"T GIVE A DAM. Here goes!
Well, they've rounded up a group of terrorists in England, who by the way are British citizens and they've arrested them for plotting to blow up 8-10 transcontinental airplanes in mid-air, over the Atlantic, killing as many or more people as the 9/11 terrorists. Now lets look at this plot--8-10 airliners with passengers traveling from Europe to the US. I say Europe because flights from all European countries stop-over in England to switch planes and fly to the US. That means that the passengers on these airliners could have been of any nationality and/or religion.
Lets face it--these terrorists didn't care who they killed, they just wanted to kill a large number of people all at one time for the news sensation. For the terror effect that it would have on the entire world. Even though these terrorists did not achieve their objective (as far as we know), they have in effect won because now air travel is more difficult and security is tighter--they have taken away a little more of our freedom. And, though people complained about the wiretaps, communications played a part in capturing these terrorists.
As Patty mentioned in one of her comments on a previous blog, the Koran is being changed to suit the purposes of the mullahs and clerics. Mohammed did not write the Koran just as Christ did not write the Bible. Both books were written by followers of these men after their deaths. While the Bible is an historical documentation of life at that time, the Koran is composed of Mohammed's interpretation of how one should live their lives. I have read both books and have been unable to locate any documentation on 72 virgins being a reward in the afterlife for murdering innocent men, women and children in this life.
So, let me tell all the terrorists everywhere what really awaits you when you make yourself into a human bomb. Those of you who are DARK SOULS, just plain evil, those who know what they are doing is not in the name of Allah but in the name of POWER for one individual or one group of individuals, as soon as your silver thread that binds you to your human body is broken thus ensuring that you are truly DEAD, your fellow DARK SOULS (demons, satan, the power of evil, etc.) will be there to claim you as its own. That's right, you will go to the hell that you have created. Those of you who truly believe that what you are doing is in Allah's name, because you have been duped into believing this by your leaders, your clerics, your mullah--will find yourselves in the judgement arena (like an IMAX theater) with your entire life being played for you, since the day you were brought into this world. You will stand alone and answer for all you have done--don't try to blame your actions on reactions to what others have told you or what others have done to you as those who sit as your judges only want to hear why YOU HAVE DONE WHAT YOU DID. A list of your sins (jealousy, ignorance, murder) will be engraved for you and you will be doomed for them. No one, living or dead, can atone for your actions--your actions are yours and only yours for eternity.
You say that the people who talked you into commiting your life to terrorism promised you a place in heaven, forgiveness for all you've done wrong in this life, that you'd become a martyr for the cause, and that 72 virgins would be waiting for you on the other side? Well, they lied to you, but you have to die to find out the truth. 8月10日 Geneva ConventionsIn answer to Patty's comments on the Geneva Conventions, I submit the following:
The first Geneva Convention was inspired by Henri Dunant in June 1859. While he was traveling through war-ravaged Normandia, north of Italia, after the battle of Solferino, he saw thousands of wounded soldiers left to die. Mr. Dunant appealed to the local inhabitants to come and help combatants from both sides. In 1862 he published a book, "A Memory of Solferino," in which he made two appeals--1. For relief societies to be formed in peacetime with nurses who would be ready to care for the wounded in wartime and 2. That these volunteers be recognized and protected through an international agreement. Thus the "International Committee for Relief to the Wounded" was founded--the modern day Red Cross.
The Swiss government, in 1864, agreed to convene a Diplomatic Conference which was held in Geneva, Switzerland with representatives of 12 governments to adopt a treaty prepared by the International Committe entitled, "Geneva Convention for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded in Armies in the Field." This treaty with its 10 articles was the first treaty of international humanitarian law. Subsequently this treaty has been expanded to cover--prisoners of war, war-action at sea, and civilians.
These international laws set down as the Geneva Conventions are as follows:
1. Persons who do not or can no longer take part in the hostilities are entitled to respect for their life and for their physical and mental integrity.
2. It is forbidden to kill or wound an adversary who surrenders or who can no longer take part in the fighting.
3. The wounded and sick must be collected and cared for by the party to the conflict which has them in its power.
4. Captured combatants and civilians who find themselves under the authority of the adverse party are entitled to respect for their life, their dignity, their personal rights and their political, religious, and other convictions. They must be protected against all acts of violence or reprisal and they are entitled to news from their families and to receive aid.
5. No one is to be subjected to physical or mental torture or to cruel or degrading corporal punishment or other treatment.
6. It is forbidden to use weapons or methods of warfare that are likely to cause unnecessary losses or excessive suffering.
7. Parties to a conflict must at all times distinguish between the civilian population and combatants in order to spare the civilian population and civilian property.
8. Attacks must be made solely against military objectives.
9. Neither civilian population as a whole nor as individuals are to be attacked.
Although the world recognizes the Geneva Conventions, and waring parties usually state that they are following the Geneva Conventions--all of the articles stated above have been broken by every waring party. The US has certainly broken them at Gitmo. In the conflict between Israel and Hezbullah, only Israel has warned civilians of projected targets and told civilians to leave. If civilians choose not to leave, whose fault is it if they are killed and wounded? In my opinion, it is then the fault of those civilians and the parties that they stay to help and/or defend.
