Last year my Father's Day blog disappeared. The same thing will probably happen this year, but I'm going to blog it anyway.
My mother and father divorced before I was born. Every Father's Day I would ask my mother if we could go to the local "five and ten cent" store so that I could get a card to send to my father. She always gave me the same answer, "I'm not buying him a Father's Day card and spending 2 cents to mail it." So, I started making him a Father's Day card with whatever materials I could find around the house. Then I took my card to my grandparents, who didn't like my father anymore than my mother did, but felt I had the right to mail it to him. Of course my father always said it was the most beautiful card he ever received, partly to not hurt my feelings and partly because I was the only child he had, thus the only Father's Day card he received.
To this day, my mother doesn't understand that she wouldn't have been buying my father a card, she would have been buying me a card so that I could remember my father.

We had Tornadoes
Here in Sandoval County
I wanted to post the pictures of tornadoes between Santa Fe and Rio Rancho. No one was hurt, just some damage to trees and desert. This is just something that never happens here. The weather has been quite different. Snow last winter, rains that flooded the desert, and now tornadoes. To whom??? Not to me.
Anything to get your own way, remember the beating of the shoe on the table? Russia just wants the technology, which we have to share anyway, and to be a part of the action. Just like a kid, I want my way or I'll throw a tantrum. How childish and infantile!!!
And, Bush's comments are just as childish as Putin's. Come on, we're all adults here, or I thought we were. The Global Shield that was suppose to protect America and it's allies from terrorist, enemy nations will now be in the hands of our enemies, and how much protection can that afford us? Why don't we just put one of our stations in every country on earth and we'll all be even and in the same boat that we are now. Good grief people! WHAT FRIENDS?
Yeah I remember when Colonel Hudson told me, "Bobbi, the Russians are our friends now. The world's going to be a better place." I laughed, "The Russians will never really be our friends, they are broke and the world's going to pour aid into Russia. What a lost cause."
"Your always negative. Wait and see. It's a new age, and communism is going to disappear from the face of the earth." Right Colonel dream on.
The Russians are not our friends and now they're threatening to aim missiles at Europe if we put our Global defense system anywhere near them. I guess they don't understand the concept of global defense--it's to shoot down missiles from communist countries like them.
When did the Cold War end?
Russia is busy trying to regroup it's prior satellite countries (even though many of them are not interested), Putin has re-taken control of Russian utilities and media outlets, and they want us to sit back and wait for them and their Chinese friends to come and get us. I think not. We have a right to defend ourselves and the EU--so, Putin watch out for the Global Shield. |
