And, this is the last straw.

Baby Justice's mother had gone to the local Albuquerque Police 2 hours before the murder and tried to turn herself in for an outstanding warrant. Our wonderful police couldn't find the warrant, so they refused to arrest her. (Another version has surfaced that the police did find the warrant but chose not to enforce it.) Nevertheless, the mother told the police that she had been thrown out of her mother's home and the "party house" and that she and her son had no place to go. The police gave her the phone number and location of a women's abuse foundation home that might be able take them in, but didn't bother to ask if she had transportation to get there. When she begged the police to help her, they told her they couldn't help every homeless person who dropped in. Just another example of our wonderful Albuquerque Police Department.

Baby Justice

Baby Justice has found his eternal home. His mother is a Zuni Indian, she hasn't lived on the Pueblo, but the tribe has come forward to claim him. So, neighbors of the park where he was found held a candle lighting service for him today and he will be buried on the Zuni Pueblo tomorrow. I think it's a fitting ending to a sad story.

Baby Justice

They found him buried under the swing set in the children's park. Only his foot covered in an expensive sneaker was visible. He was three years old, and someone had smothered him and buried him in the park he often played in. The police artist had drawn a picture of him and named him "Baby Justice." Every local news station placed his picture on the TV every night for a week and no one claimed him. No 3 year old boys were reported missing by grieving parents. Then police received a call from outside the local area, from a woman who claimed the boy looked like her nephew. Local authorities located the mother, a homeless 23 year old at a local "party house." You guessed it, she was on drugs. At first she denied knowing anything about the boy in the park; but, finally it came out. She didn't know who the father was, she had been thrown out of her mother's home with the child she said she had never wanted, and the "party house" had thrown her out because she wasn't taking care of the boy. (Either druggies have a conscious or they got tired of taking care of her son.) So she took him to the park one evening and they fell asleep there. When she woke up, she decided to kill him. She says she smothered him and revved him once, then smothered him until he died and she dug a hole with her hands in the sand and buried the boy under the swing-set. Now here is what gets me--the grandmother who threw them out of her home must have recognized the pictures on TV but she didn't come forward. She said that she knew that the woman wasn't taking care of the boy, but she didn't report it. The druggies in the "Party house" knew about the abuse and didn't report it. The woman's sisters knew about the abuse, but didn't report it, and they must have recognized the pictures also. No one did anything to help this child, no one came forward to report the abuse nor identify the body. But, now that it's all out in the open, the relatives want to bury the boy (citizens of the neighborhood where the boy was found in the park wanted to bury him in a marked grave); but, the relatives are up in arms. Why weren't they up in arms for the week before the child was identified? They didn't try to help the mother so that she didn't have to murder the child to get rid of him. They must have known her situation, but no one helped her. The district attorney said she won't receive the death penalty because there is no evidence of plotting to murder. What the heck would you call it? The whole story is a real tragedy, but where is the "justice" for Baby Justice? I don't see any here. If this woman didn't want this child why didn't she give the baby up to adoption or why didn't anyone alert authorities so that the child would have been taken into foster care? I just do not understand the mentality of our society anymore. And, the police want to know if the people who knew about the situation and did nothing to report it should be prosecuted. I may sound cruel; but, Yes, they damn well should be.

President Obama's Visit to Rio Rancho

President Obama visited Rio Rancho, NM this morning. He held a town meeting at the Rio Rancho High School concerning the Credit Card bill he's trying to get through Congress. Of course, no one was told how to get tickets to the meeting, so I don't know who he gave his talk to. I had to work, so I couldn't have gone anyway. Thank goodness I left for work at 6:30 AM so I missed the traffic mess. But, at noon, I left the base to get something for lunch and ran into the police and secret service blocking my route because Obama was going to the airport. His motorcade wasn't scheduled to go through that route for another hour, but they had to clear the way. The traffic director walked over to my car and told me to turn around because they weren't allowing traffic beyond that point. "We can't park and watch the motorcade pass?" No, it won't be through for another hour, and you'd have to park about 1/2 a mile back. "You've got to be kidding, you all must think we have shoulder, rocket launchers in our cars." The secret service didn't find that remark amusing and with my clearance I couldn't afford the problems. So, I turned around and drove to the other side of the base for lunch. But, I wonder--we the American people pay for the secret service, the limo, the president; but we aren't allowed to get within 1/2 mile of any of this. I remember the day, when presidents were more accessible. We could stand on the sidewalk and wave at motorcades. The days when base commanders forced us to stand in hot hangers for up to 3 hours to listen to President Clinton's speak to us about how great we were and then when he thought we couldn't hear him, he called us all four-letter words. Yeah, those were the good old days--we paid for everything, got called names, and in return we at least stood 3 feet away from the president who was taking our money.

And, Now We're Going To Pay

Our government bailed out the car manufacturers and GM is going bankrupt anyway. What happened to all those billions of dollars? Bonuses probably. Say goodbye to Pontiac and Saturn, they will no longer be manufactured. But, now the citizens of America will start to pay for all those billions to bail everyone out. Our wonderful government is going to start taxing the things that rich and poor alike always felt they could get tax-free. Sugar, salt--the staples of life throughout the world will now be taxed separately at the grocery store. Fuel and cigarettes were taxed before and now the tax will be raised on these items also. Soon we will go to the grocery store and each item will be taxed at a different amount and then when they total our purchases, they'll tax us again. California was to illegalize marijuana so that the state and the Federal government can tax it. Didn't colonists fight for independence from England because of taxation without representation? Get out the bows and arrows, which direction is Boston, its time for a tea party.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I want to with a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE LADIES OUT THERE. Pick up the phone and give your mom a call. And, to my mother--I love ya mom, have a great day.

Secession From the Union

Well, Texas has started something and who knows where it will end. Texas is threatening to leave the union if gun laws are passed and the economy keeps getting worse. This is legal, it happened to start the last Civil War. But, Texas isn't the only state that is making this threat. Montana is also threatening secession. Alaska has always wanted to be a separate country and Hawaii was forced into the union, so they may want to join the secession. Americans laugh and shake their heads--THEY WON'T DO IT. Stop and think for a minute, it only took a couple of states to leave the union over slavery to start the American Civil War. If things keep getting worse and people get really fed up with the stuff going on in this country, IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN.

New Mexico Drivers Licenses

Well we knew it was coming, and it did. New Mexico drivers licenses are no longer valid in other states. That's what our wonderful :( governor has done for us. By giving licenses to illegal aliens, drug trafficers, and criminals; other states have decided they can no longer except New Mexico drivers licenses as valid. Our DMV has accepted rent receipts and lease agreements or utility bills as identification from illegals to issue them New Mexico drivers licenses. This past month as a result of a state audit, it has been established that hundreds of illegals have used the same packages (rent receipts or leases and utility bills) as proof. The names of the landlords and bill recipients were changed but the address and amounts were the same. How many hundreds of folks do the DMV employees think can live in the same house at the same time. The criminals from Mexico come over here, get a New Mexico drivers license with the same phony receipts and then they disappear into American society and who knows what they are doing or planning. Now, those of us who live in New Mexico and follow the laws are stuck with unacceptable drivers licenses. I wasn't here when the Frito Bandito was elected as governor, but I will be voting in the next election for governor. Maybe we should vote for Val Kilmer, maybe he can get us all Hollywood drivers licenses.
