12月10日 Bank of AmericaBank of America, who?
Employees of Republic Windows and Doors, located on Chicago’s North Side deserve America’s gratitude. About 200 Republic employees took over the Chicago plant last week after the company said that Bank of America rescinded its credit line and forced it to close.
Good for them!! Yes sir, our tax dollars were given to bail out the banks, so the banks would be solvent and continue to run lines of credit to companies who would keep paying their employees; thus, avoiding another depression. Instead these banks are taking our tax dollars, keeping them, refusing to give credit to companies and individuals, giving bonuses to their senior management, and then crying for more tax payer dollars.
Guess what; if companies close and employees are out of work, there are no more taxpayer dollars to give to banks, car manufacturers, or crying CEOs.
YOU GO REPUBLIC WINDOWS AND DOORS EMPLOYEES!! Put Bank of America out of business. The poor will remain poor, the rich will remain rich, but when you mess with the middle class—you mess with the taxpayer dollars that actually underwrite the government of the United States. Without financial backing where will our country go—down the tubes? 1 for the Money1 For the Money
Barack Obama, the candidate who ran on the platform of change. The man who swore to make America a better place, improve our image in world affairs, CHANGE, Hope, is now president-elect. And, he’s handing out cabinet seats and government appointments to re-pay his campaign debts. And, he's giving them to people who are not new faces and new ideas to the D.C. scene. In fact, some of these appointees do not have any experience in their appointed fields nor do they have the slightest idea what they’ll be expected to do after January 22, 2009 rolls around.
Now to compare this to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, who was arrested and accused of trying to sell President-elect Obama's Senate seat.
Don’t misunderstand my intent. What Governor Blagojevich is accused of is blatantly corrupt and I do not condone his behavior; but, that’s the key word—BLATANT. The Governor of Illinois was trying to sell the now vacant Senate seat out in the open instead of quietly, behind closed doors, so to speak. Now back in the 50s and 60s corrupt politics was rampant in Chicago. Selling political favors was the norm. And, it wasn’t just Illinois or Chicago; but, it was blatant in Chicago.
So, tell me, aside from blatant what is the difference between selling a Senate seat and giving away cabinet seats or White House appointments? Political “names” who gave their endorsements to Barack Obama in exchange for government appointments did nothing illegal; but, someone who gives the Illinois Governor something in exchange for the Illinois Senate seat makes themselves and Governor Blagojevich the next set of political “jail birds.” I see a double standard here!
And, when I sent an e-mail to the “Obama Transition Team” concerning this issue, I received a unique answer. A survey for my opinion on what our next First Lady should wear to the inauguration. An off-the-rack evening dress or an Oscar de la Renta, revealing black evening gown. Of all the economic and political quandaries facing the world; it all comes down to deciding what our next First Lady should wear. Okay, fine, here’s my opinion.
During her husband’s presidential campaign, Michelle Obama bragged of purchasing her clothes at reasonable prices in stores frequented by “Us,” the common people. Once-in-awhile something fancy from local designers in the local area of Chicago. And, that’s why millions of Americans like Michelle; she was a commoner like “Us.” Now it’s time to go to D.C. and become our First Lady, not like “Us.” Is she considering affordable clothes like “Us,” not anymore; now it’s big designer name clothes that the “Us” could never afford. Just like her children will now attend a private D.C. insider school instead of a public school like “Us.” And, now it’s which famous designer will get to design Michelle Obama’s clothes for the inauguration. Well, having lived in D.C. and attended two presidential inaugurations, it had better be something warm; perhaps, a fur coat.
Let’s face it fellow Americans the Obamas are no longer like “Us.” They will not be arrested and prosecuted for repaying campaign debts with cabinet posts; nor will their children attend public schools like ours, nor will Michelle wear clothes purchased at stores where we shop. And--my opinion on what Michelle wears on January 22, 2009 and what famous designer gets to put their name on it—well to be honest, I DON’T GIVE A DAMN. 12月5日 All I can say is "Good Riddens"It's with a sign of relief that a lot of New Mexicans wave goodbye to Governor Bill Richardson. We're finally getting rid of him. I for one am glad to see him go. But, I can't understand how he was picked for Secretary of Commerce. Most of us in New Mexico thought that he'd be picked for Secretary of State because he really is good at talking folks into things they don't want or don't want to do. Of course we understand that by endorsing Barack Obama during the primaries and the election that he'd be getting something in return. Our governor doesn't do anything without going through the Mexican barter (bribery) system. However, we didn't think that he'd be chosen to generate jobs for Americans and find countries out there who really want to buy American goods (what goods? they're all from China). Just what experience does Governor Richardson have in that department? Well lets see------he's found a way here in New Mexico to give everything free to illegal aliens, guess he would give the country away free to Mexico; and then there's the free college tuition at the University of New Mexico if you're al illegal alien, guess he could get all of America's colleges and universities to give away free tuition; and then there's the free housing, medical care, food, clothing, and drivers' licenses without vehicle insurance that he gives to illegal aliens, guess he could get all American businesses and industries to give things away free--but isn't he suppose to be improving the economy? Isn't he suppose to be creating jobs for Americans out of work? I don't think he has any experience doing that. Although I'm glad to see Governor Richardson leave the state, I'd better sign up for Spanish classes or I won't be able to read the commerce reports. |
