October 25 Political ThoughtsI'm glad to see that China has put the screws to North Korea's nuclear program. Now maybe that little dictator will listen to reason.
I was surprised to see the political campaign ad featuring Michael Fox. Parkinson's Disease is a very serious illness afflicting millions of people around the world. I am in favor of stem cell research in hopes of finding a cure. My problem with Fox's ad is that he quit taking his medicine in order to make the ad more dramatic. I do not have Parkinson's Disease; however, I have the tremors. Mine are cause by a stuck adrenaline valve and without my medicine I can't function normally. However, in order to dramatize a cause, I wouldn't quit taking the medicine I need to function. I just don't agree with the over dramatization to get attention.
I would like to applaud the President for his speech today admitting he doesn't like the way things are going in Iraq and that he intends to set goals and a timeline for Iraq. It's better to own up to your mistakes and try to fix them than to go along with the flow. I am perplexed; however, by the killing of police recruits in Bagdhad. Are these individuals not armed? How are they expected to defend themselves against these insurgents that are obviously going to gun them down. Come on people, lets start using some sense over there.
October 22 Lets All Get Out There and Vote.National elections are coming up in 14 days. If we want to change the system for the better, LET'S ALL GET OUT THERE AND VOTE. The only way to change things is to get involved. In this country we have the right to vote without violence and personal intimidation. Let's take advantage of that right.
North Korea Has Seen The Light????Now North Korea says it has seen the light and that it's nuclear test was a big mistake. We are told that they do not intend to test anymore nuclear devices.
Something isn't right here. Either they tried to detonate a device and it failed or China is showing them the light of day. At the moment I'm not sure which occurred. But, next week they may change their minds again and do more testing. Stay tuned for the next episode in the life of North Korea. October 19 Visit With My Daughter and Her FamilyThis last week, my daughter and her family have been visiting with me. We had a GREAT!!!!! time. I'm sorry to see them go, but they have things to get back to. Hopefully next time they visit they can stay longer.
We did get to visit the Watermelon Vistas, Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell UFO Museum, some of the Petroglyphs, and take the Sandia Tram to the top of Sandia Peak. October 14 Balloon Fiesta Time In New MexicoIt's Balloon Fiesta time in Albuquerque. My daughter is here to visit and she showed me how to upload pictures on this space. That includes paint the walls. Democracy/SocialismDemocracy=Every citizen has a voice in the government. Each individual votes their choice in each election.
Socialism=When the minority votes and makes the government choices for the majority.
Not even 1/2 of the REGISTERED voters in America get out and vote on election days (local, state, or federal elections). Therefore----the minority of REGISTERED American voters actually make decisions that affect and establish the way of life for the majority of American citizens.
Don't complain about your government if you can't even get off the sofa long enough to drive to your voting booth and push a few buttons on the very few occasions that we actually get to voice our opinion in local, state, and federal elections.
If you don't like what's going on in Washington---then get up off your sofa, get out there and change it. Otherwise be content to live in the Socialistic Republic that you have created by your passivism. October 02 All Great Empires Come to an End!!Our Congress is full of hipocrites!
